Responsible for accurately entering information into the relevant systems in a timely manner whilst ensuring quality and accuracy of data
Reconcile daily transactions
Enters data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information according to the required format
Maintain a systematic record of financial files
Prepare entries and ensure the accurate recording of revenues, expenses, adjustments, etc.
Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data in order to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers
Check and validate completeness of documents before process; check source documents for accuracy and verify data and correct data where necessary
Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry and obtain further information for incomplete documents; update data and delete unnecessary files
Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures
Reconcile and report discrepancies found in records
Ensure all work requests are done in accordance with agreed time scales
Encode, ensure, and verify data entry conforming to the clients specifications or senior management directives
Prepare and summarize monthly reports
Any other task/duty as directed by client/management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processing
Complete initial processing in Class software for self-managed superfund accounts
Completing year-end financial accounts for Self-Managed Super Funds on Class Software
Reconciling investments held at 30 June every year i.e. match back to a portfolio valuation or online registries
Completing year-end financial accounts for investment trusts and companies on Class Software.
Ordering/Auditing
Audit of SMSF accounts – checking and inserting documents into various sections (there will be a documented guide to follow)
Checking that documents inserted match back to figures/numbers in accounts
Qualifications
Preferably with Bachelor's / College Degree in Finance / Accountancy / Banking or equivalent
At least 1 to 4 years of experience in General Accounting (Australian SMSF experience highly desirable)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, especially highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets)
Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends. Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs
Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret and comprehend financial and non-financial data
Ability to work flexibly and demonstrate a willingness to respond to changing work requirements and peak periods
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management
High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy; team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization
Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good-record-keeping
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; hands-on and detail-oriented
Must be a perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for financial sloppiness; highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
