API Developer Lead

The API Developer Lead role is responsible for the systems design, implementation, and data integration for our mobile and web applications. This is a brand new role providing the opportunity for a senior level developer to establish our Services/API practice within our team and support our rapid mobile and web applications growth.

• Lead the design and development of APIs, databases and any integration tools
• Participate in requirements discussions with internal stakeholders and assist with guiding the development of the overall solution
• Contribute to the development of the systems design
• Project delivery and enhancements across multiple applications
• Develop and maintain clear and up-to-date architecture and API documentation

• Working experience as a Node.js Developer with an in-depth knowledge of Node.js
• Bachelor's Degree in in computer science or similar relevant field
• RESTful API development experience
• Experience in mobile architectural design and supporting mobile application platforms (iOS, Android)
• Experience with the whole web stack (e.g. MEAN, MERN), including protocols and web server optimization techniques
• Experience with CI/CD/Docker
• Experience in monitoring in-app analytics
• Experience in AWS and basic dev-ops
• Experience in NoSQL and/or SQL (e.g. MongoDB, MySQL, other DBs)
• Understanding accessibility and security compliance
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Strong understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving aptitude
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical API and data solutions
• Attention to detail and outcome orientation
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Optional bonus: experience using MuleSoft
