Assistant Accountant

The Assistant Accountant role is responsible for providing day-to-day operational accounting functions and finance support such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliation, reports preparation, operational data entry, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Inbox management including assignment and escalations addressed and communicated within agreed timelines
  • Follow up items communicated to the Financial Accountant in compliance with month end cut offs
  • Accounts Receivable invoice processing
  • End-to-end Accounts Payable processing, including data entry and payment preparation
  • Management of all client workflows and ensure that supplier invoices and expense claims are submitted for approval within agreed weekly and monthly cut offs
  • Payroll data entry with required completion of high level accuracy
  • Management of operational data including data entry and encoding
  • Recharge invoices for assigned clients are drafted submitted for review in line with agreed cut offs
  • Daily bank reconciliations in accordance with Accounting standards
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting tasks completed within agreed timelines
  • Maintain client confidentiality and protect client data to the highest degree
  • Any task/duty, ad-hoc accounting, and administrative duties directed by client/management

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's / College Degree in Finance / Accountancy / Banking or equivalent
  • At least three (3) years of proven professional experience as a General Accountant in a medium to large corporate environment
  • Knowledge in Xero or any Accounting tool/software is highly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets)
  • CPA board passer is an advantage but not a pre-requisite to the role requirement
  • Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends. Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret and comprehend financial and non-financial data
  • Ability to work flexibly and demonstrate a willingness to respond to changing work requirements and peak periods
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management
  • High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy; team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization
  • Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good-record-keeping
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; hands-on and detail-oriented
  • Must be a perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for financial sloppiness; highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
  • Amenable to work in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in an Early Morning Shift; Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.
