A Content Writer creates persuasive, attention-grabbing, informative text, also known as “copy” that describes and/or promotes a business' product or service. Copywriting takes many different forms – from concise slogans to detailed sales proposals. The writing is used in various marketing materials such as print and broadcast, newspaper articles, newsletters and magazine ads, billboards, catalogue descriptions, direct mail campaigns, blog entries, speeches, even television and radio commercials for publicity. A task of a Content Writer includes but is not limited to editing copy, laying out Web pages, posting copy to websites, meeting with clients to conduct research, etc.
Responsibilities
Play a fundamental role in the content strategy and development process whilst work closely with the Creative team
Develop compelling content, creative concepts and copy designed for interactive advertising and marketing materials
Concept, create and write clear, engaging and persuasive copy for campaigns across all media such as websites, brochures, ads, and other means of advertising
Be able to understand your audience and write in multiple voices and styles as you may be required to quickly switch from one client project to the next
Explore different ideas and concepts for both the visual and verbal elements in tandem with the creative team
Work closely and effectively with art directors, designers and production, collaborating to develop creative concepts
Understand strategy and be an active participant in ensuring the integrity of the project strategy is maintained throughout the creative process
Update digital media with timely content and perform search engine optimization techniques
Check copy for spelling and grammar errors; ensure that all copy is delivered on deadline, proofed and 100% error free
Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed or directed within tight deadlines
Any other task/duty as directed by client/management
Qualifications
Must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or equivalent
With at least 1 to 2 years of relevant working experience either as a full-time or freelance copywriter
Has flawless command of the English language both written and oral with a knack for sentence structure and grammar
Strong grasp of marketing and branding concepts
Australian copywriting background and experience, required
Experience in SEO and Wordpress, required
Strong grasp of marketing and branding concepts, both digital and print, preferred
Exceptional writing and presentation skills and understanding of the art of advertising
Works diligently to understand the target audience and understands the value of research and competitive set awareness
Understands the importance of deadlines and plans accordingly to meet them
Must be able to demonstrate effective time management skills - handle and prioritize multiple projects regardless of the inevitable changing scope, timelines, goals, deliverable, etc.
Good track record in being able to adapt quickly to unscheduled work and impromptu projects
A keen observer that understands the best ideas can come from anywhere (out of the office), at any moment (off the clock) and is always on the lookout for inspiration
Loves participating in the creative process from brainstorm to launch, actively seeks out opportunities to contribute during all phases
Must be a team player comfortable in a collaborative environment and always eager to share and refine ideas
Receptive to constructive feedback and understands that revision is an essential part of the creative process
Is passionate and original
Must be willing to work in Makati – Ayala Avenue
Must be willing to work in an early morning shift
