The Finance Assistant is responsible for performing general accounting functions such as preparing and reconciling bank reconciliations, maintaining the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization; ensuring accounting principles and procedures are applied.
Responsibilities
Perform the Daily Bank reconciliations for multiple entities across different travel systems
Ensure payments to suppliers made according to agreed schedules
Perform the recording and reconciliation of accounts payable transactions
Manage and maintain the General Ledgers including suspense and unknown deposits
Ownership of Intercompany and Balance Sheet reconciliations at month end
Process Intercompany and other double entry adjustment journals as needed
Assist with the daily Processing, allocating and reconciling of cash and credit card receipts
Any task/duty as directed by client/management
Support junior team members in daily functions
Qualifications
A Bachelor's / College Degree in Finance / Accountancy / Banking or equivalent is preferred but not essential
Five (5) years of proven professional experience in a similar role
Proven experience in bank and general ledger account reconciliations
Experience in the travel industry preferred not essential
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets)
Desire to work in a busy environment with strong organisational / time management skills
Detail-oriented and can multitask with strong administrative skills
Self-starter and able to work independently as well as with a team
Proven ability to communicate in English, both written and oral
A commitment to client service and a flexible can-do attitude to respond to client and business needs
