Graphic Designer - Textbooks (Night Shift)

The Graphic Designer is in charge of assisting the editorial team to produce high-quality, engaging products. The role will work closely with the project editors providing updated and new art for our higher education textbooks in a range of subject matters. This role will have the opportunity to work with the editorial team to ensure that we produce quality, accessible products on budget and on schedule.

• Responsible for the creation of all textbook interior graphics
• Ensure brand consistency throughout products by following style guidelines
• Update old and create new graphics as need for each textbook
• Present sample graphics to development editor, author, and project manager for selection
• Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy taking into consideration online and print versions of textbook
• Meticulous review of graphics before returning to project manager for proofreading and placement
• Maintain organized image resource files on Google Drive
• Create a graphics repository of shared images across the disciplines
• Communicate and coordinate with Editorial team to meet deadlines and adjust priorities
• Use programs such as Slack, Trello and Google Docs to stay organized with workload.

• At least 2 years’ experience in the design field
• Working experience in InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Ability to create and format attractive visual designs quickly and efficiently
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and comprehensive follow-through
• Have meticulous attention to detail, be highly organized with ability to multi-task effectively while remaining accurate and consistent in all data management
• Must have excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Must be willing to work in the night shift
