Under supervision of the Director of Strategy, collaborates with the Data Strategy team to implement and maintain core reporting systems providing skilled analysis and visualization to drive data-informed strategic decision-making and compliance reporting. The Institutional Data Analyst engages in dialogue with management personnel across all campuses and deploys solutions to meet team and institutional needs, producing readable, goal-oriented reports to serve our internal constituents in their regular goal setting and progress monitoring.
Responsibilities
Enrollment and Accreditation Reporting: With the support of the Data Strategy team, engages in ongoing dialogue with Registration and enrollment management personnel across all campuses and deploys solutions to meet team and institutional needs for data and database use. Coordinates information flow and data operations between various offices (e.g., Admissions, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Doctor of Ministry, Alumni, Distance Education, etc.) to maintain smooth communication and to eliminate inaccurate information processing. Generates data for and completes annual statistical reports (e.g., ATS, NEASC, IPEDS, CACREP, At-A-Glance, Immunizations, etc.). (40%)
Internal Reporting and Analysis: Uses established functionality and develops new Airtable and Power BI reports to provide reports, schedules, statistics, and analysis as needed for staff, faculty, and administration throughout the institution. Internal reporting will track and be contextualized toward improving recruitment and retention. In addition, produce KPIs to assist in staff performance review and provide insight toward improved efficiency. Ensures data integrity and accuracy in central Airtable database. (30%)
External Market Research: Assist other members in the strategy team analyzing changes in external factors that affect success of institutional goals. The Institutional Data Analyst will gather datasets and produce reports to predict potential new markets for successful recruitment and predict potential future market shifts in Christian Higher Education. (20%)
Team Support: When necessary, assists with the duties of other members of the strategy team. (10%)

Qualifications
Maintaining and Retrieving Data from a Relational Database: A solid understanding of the operation and maintenance of relational database systems as well as expertise in report development and generation. Aptitude with database design and programming including creating stored procedures, views, tables, and complex SQL query statements..
Data Analysis and Presentation: A talent for analyzing and interpreting data and presenting the results in a clear, concise, and understandable manner contextualized for the target audience. The ability to create custom visual presentations of data sets to make them more understandable and compelling.
Solution Generation: Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills are essential. An aptitude for teaching one’s self new skills and a natural talent for learning new software environments.
Managing Multiple Projects: The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects combined with the wisdom necessary to balance competing priorities.
Customer Service: A proven track records of quality customer service with a strong focus on the needs of other staff and students. Must function well as a member of the strategy team.
Education and Experience
Strong proficiency with student information systems (preferably SONIS) as well as Microsoft Excel and Word. Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and some basic knowledge SQL reporting are strongly desired.
Strong understanding of Relational Databases, experience with Airtable a plus.
Basic knowledge or reporting systems (Power BI or Tableau preferred)
Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Analytics or equivalent
Higher Education experience a plus but not required
