Learning and Development Specialist (LMS Designer)

The Learning and Development Designer creates a design for course materials, programs, and presentation decks that will aid in facilitating learners in acquiring new knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. The role is also responsible for building virtual learning environments using a Learning Management System (LMS) and is in-charge of the development and production of training modules for new and existing course requirements.

• Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
• Designs and develops course materials such as training presentations, assessments, learning activities, measures, and e-learning courses to achieve objectives
• State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
• Visualize instructional graphics and design supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)
• Develops training materials including but not limited to eLearning courses, instructional videos, etc.
• Creates storyboards and manipulates course elements using editing tools
• Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs
• Keeps abreast with emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Captivate)
• Uses content authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Active Presenter to create engaging interactive courses for adult learners
• Updates, publishes, and maintains LMS content and assets, and ensures content is current and consistent
• Maintain project documentation and course folders
• Any other task/duty as directed by client/management

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Art/Design/Creative Multimedia, Advertising/Media, Industrial Design or equivalent
• Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate Storyline or other altering tools is highly regarded
• Experience in the use of any Learning Management System is an advantage
• Basic coding knowledge skills (Flash, Java, HTML and CSS Design) is a bonus
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent comprehension skills
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Positive attitude, high energy, proactive, hardworking, and goal oriented
• Able to work well in a team or independently with minimal supervision
• Must be a team player, receptive to new ideas, and can easily adapt to change
• Flexible, accommodating, and able to go above and beyond the basic expectations when required
