The role of the Legal Costing Officer’s role is to support to the broader team on all aspects of costing client matters. The role is required to undertake data entry and reconciliation, assist in preparation of itemised accounts and provide general administrative support to the Costing Solicitors.
Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for queries including monitoring incoming emails requesting assistance
Add requests to the Legal Costing Team (LCT) department worklist, keeping this updated at all times
Liaise with the Costing Solicitors on the progress of work and updating spreadsheet accordingly
Distributing the LCT work list on a weekly basis
Ensure any urgent work is escalated to the Costing Solicitors
Assist in the preparation of files to be outsourced for external costing
Prepare WIP dumps from MatterSphere for review by Costing Solicitors
Prepare draft itemised accounts, reviewing and updating as required before providing to Costing Solicitors for review
Qualifications
The ideal applicant will have a strong background working with Microsoft Excel and reconciliations experience. The role requirements are as follows:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent typing and administration skills
Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
High level of literacy and numeracy
Able to prioritise work and manage competing deadlines
