Microsoft Cloud Engineer - Canadian Account (Work from Home)

The Microsoft Senior Engineer will utilize expert level experience and knowledge of Microsoft Cloud architecture, administration and best practice recommendations combined with a strong current and deep experience with, but not limited to Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office Communications Server, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Active Directory, and Forefront Identity Manager, Azure AD including the Azure platform to assist the client’s customers with the design, development and deployment of modern workplace, messaging and communication solutions.

The role must have strong leadership skills and the ability to professionally represent the client in challenging environments are required. Understanding of competitive technologies to properly assess feasibility of migrating customer solutions from, and/or integrating with customer solutions hosted on, non-Microsoft platforms is also desired. The Microsoft Cloud Senior Engineer will offer a variety of responsibility, from being hands on with our clients to working with other technical experts and company leadership on developing innovative solutions and solving tough problems.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and assists with enhancing IT customer communication and collaboration migrations in accordance with agreed upon service agreements.
  • Designs, plans, and performs Microsoft Exchange/G-Suite to Office365 migrations
  • Designs, plans and performs Microsoft Azure deployment(s) and migration(s)
  • Proven design, planning and implementation experience with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
  • Design, planning and implementation experience with Windows Server technologies.
  • Responsible for leadership and delivery of project-based assignments that encompass system architecture, proof-of-concept and deployment services.
  • Perform system reviews of client telephony environments and prepare findings documents outlining short and long-term strategies.
  • Facilitate and lead client configuration planning meetings and articulate pros & cons of design/architecture decision across a wide spectrum of factors - e.g. latency, storage, startup/shutdown.
  • Establish reputation as subject matter expert in assigned technology area.
  • You will be working with customers to understand their business and technical requirements to design Microsoft 365 solutions to improve our customers employee experience.
  • You will be the Microsoft 365 Subject Matter Expert within the business and to the end customers, responsible for delivering enterprise sized Microsoft 365 solutions.
  • Designing complex Microsoft 365 solutions, leading work-streams on transformational programs and ensuring conformance to agreed design standards, methods and tools, including prototyping new tools and applications where appropriate.
  • Shaping Microsoft 365 technical proposals whilst making solution/service trade-offs where appropriate and providing support to our pre-sales and bid teams to ensure solution and cost alignment.
  • Resolution ownership of technical challenges for Microsoft 365 projects and the technical escalation point for the implementation teams.
  • Mentoring and coaching more junior architects within the team through both performance management and community-led collaboration.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor for our customers, translating centralised Microsoft 365 roadmap insight into customer-specific impact avoidance and benefit realisation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in other messaging solutions such as anti-virus/anti-spam appliances and/or applications, archiving solutions, mobility solutions, Azure Active Directory or real-time collaboration solutions a plus.
  • Strong customer relationship skills and willingness to lead customers through successful challenging projects which includes estimating, scoping, and writing effective statements of work that clearly set expectations and limit risk.
  • A good working knowledge of the entire Microsoft 365 stack, including their interactions and use cases.
  • Strong understanding of Multi-Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), and Security and Compliance.
  • Key competencies to include coaching, influencing senior stakeholders, managing time & priorities, conflict management, commercial / bid awareness, excellent presentation delivery and technical writing.
  • Excellent client facing experience.
  • Amenable to work on graveyard shift schedule
