Senior External Auditor

The Auditor is responsible for reviewing accounts to ensure the validity and legality of financial records and recommend possible risk aversion and cost saving measures as necessary. The Auditor is also in-charge of conducting the full life cycle of the process as per the Audit Plan, and is expected to review and analyse documents, transaction records and reports, as well as examining the money going in and out of the company and making sure it is recorded and processed correctly to come up with sound advice for any weaknesses and gaps in the internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation
  • Verifies assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation
  • Completes audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings
  • Appraises adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires
  • Maintains internal control systems by updating audit programs and questionnaires, recommending new policies and procedures as necessary
  • Communicates audit findings by preparing a final report
  • Complies with federal, state, and local security legal requirements by studying existing and new security legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions
  • Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation
  • Prepares special audit and control reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising operating information and trends
  • Runs client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing financial audits and managing the budget
  • Evaluates manual and automated financial processes
  • Helps in the preparation of financial statements, reports, tax returns and other relevant documentation
  • Participates in the review of financial statements
  • Any other task/duty as directed by client/management

Qualifications

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor's / College Degree in Finance / Accountancy / Banking or equivalent
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a definite advantage
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in External Audit in a Senior Level with international firms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, especially highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets)
  • Meticulous and has strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines under pressure
  • Demonstrates a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends
  • Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret and comprehend financial and non-financial data
  • Ability to work flexibly and demonstrate a willingness to respond to changing work requirements and peak periods
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management
  • High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy; team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; hands-on and detail-oriented
  • Must be a perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for financial sloppiness; highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
  • Previous experience working for an Australian client is an advantage
